Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic treatment that aims to lighten the natural shade of teeth and reduce tooth discoloration. Teeth can darken and become discolored due to factors such as coffee, tea, red wine, smoking, aging, and other lifestyle factors.

The bleaching agent used in whitening, such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, breaks down the compounds that cause tooth discoloration. As a result, the natural shade of the tooth becomes lighter and the smile appears brighter.

Teeth whitening can be done at a professional's office or at home.

Before bleaching

Before teeth whitening, it is important to ensure that your teeth and gums are healthy, as whitening should only be performed on a healthy mouth.

The final result and safety of the whitening treatment may be affected by fillings, tooth discoloration, crowns, cavities, tooth wear, enamel damage, gingivitis, and tartar.

During your appointment, the dentist or dental hygienist will assess the condition of your teeth and gums and determine whether any treatment or other measures are needed before whitening.

Our assessment appointment is completely free of charge.

Bleaching method

Our clinic offers three different teeth whitening options.

The most suitable whitening treatment is always selected individually, based on the initial condition of your teeth, your oral health, and your desired results.

Every whitening treatment begins with an air-polishing treatment (powder cleaning). Air polishing uses a combination of compressed air, water, and fine powder to remove plaque, bacteria, and surface stains from the teeth before the whitening agent is applied.

Air polishing is included in the price of the whitening treatment. However, if you have tartar, it must be removed separately, either during a separate appointment or during the same visit as a separate procedure.

Once the teeth are clean, the whitening agent is applied and activated using a special light.

Light bleaching

Light whitening is a quick whitening treatment that is suitable for brightening and maintaining the shade of your teeth. The treatment is performed in a single 10-minute whitening session at the office. Light whitening can be repeated up to four times a year if necessary.

Power whitening

Intensive whitening is a more effective option when the goal is to achieve more visible teeth whitening. During the treatment, the treatment is repeated 3–4 times, in 8–12 minute intervals. Whitening can be done twice a year.

Medical whitening

Medical whitening is specifically designed for heavily stained teeth. At the beginning of the treatment, the dental professional carefully protects the gums and other soft tissues. The whitening treatment is then performed in 3–4 consecutive sessions, each lasting approximately 8–12 minutes. Whitening can be done once a year

After bleaching

After whitening, your teeth may be temporarily more sensitive and prone to staining. Good aftercare instructions will help maintain the whitening results and keep your smile bright for as long as possible.

Avoid staining foods and drinks for the first 24-48 hours. These include coffee, tea, red wine, cola and other dark soft drinks, as well as strongly staining foods such as curry, tomato sauces and berries.

Avoid smoking and nicotine products if possible, as they can stain teeth and reduce the whitening results.

Maintain good oral hygiene. Brush your teeth gently with fluoride toothpaste twice a day and clean between your teeth daily.

Teeth sensitivity is possible after whitening. This symptom is usually temporary and will resolve on its own. If necessary, you can use a toothpaste designed for sensitivity.

Avoid very hot or cold foods and drinks if your teeth feel sensitive.

The final shade of the whitening may become clearer over a few days, so it is best to evaluate the final result only after this.
